Hi all,

In the wake of the Pre-Con this past week (which was incredible, btw! Big kudos to everyone involved, it was so inspiring!), there were a lot of wonderful books brought up, either as reference points to research/practice, or authored by members!

I'm sending this thread in hopes of compiling a reading list.

Please reply with any books & authors whom you've been particularly influenced or inspired by. Did you write a book? Share it!

In the longterm, we'll be reaching out to gather a full list of members' books, publications, articles, etc. So keep an eye out for that. But for now, share a book!

Looking forward to digging into some reading as the summer starts to wind down.

It provides for a diverse cast of actors.

It's filled with 'physical text' opportunities!

You might be interested in directing it.

ps - I'm always open to creative adaptations and welcome ideas about script modifications for productions.

Pps - Castle on the Hill is based on my one woman play -

THE ASYLUM PROJECT which calls for an actress with strong movement skills - embodies five diverse characters with specific dialects and physical attributes. The transitions from one character to another are swift and seamless and made through distinct behavioral adjustments. The characters linked by circumstances exist in different time periods: Lina (1977), Rose (1942), Willa (1954), Bonnie (1965), and Agnes (1914-1977).
